About Emirates
Emirates Airlines is the flag carrier of Dubai (United Arab Emirates), founded in 1985 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Today it operates the world’s largest fleet of Airbus A380s (more than 110 aircraft) and Boeing 777s, flying to over 150 destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania from its hub at Dubai International Airport (DXB). The emirates.com website offers a Spanish interface with prices in Mexican pesos via conversion and lets you book tickets in Economy Class (Saver, Flex, Flex Plus), Premium Economy (gradual roll-out across the fleet), Business Class with lie-flat seats, and First Class with private suites with minibar, A380 shower and personalized service. The airline is known for its ice entertainment system (3,500+ channels), premium cuisine crafted by renowned chefs, select wines, generous baggage allowance (30–50 kg in Economy depending on route) and the Emirates Skywards frequent-flyer program with miles redeemable for upgrades, award flights and partner experiences. For Mexican travelers seeking connections to Asia (Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Korea, India), the Middle East, Africa, Australia or the Maldives via Dubai, Emirates competes with Etihad, Qatar, Turkish, Lufthansa, KLM and Air France, often offering an advantage in premium product and transit experience at DXB.
💡 Money-saving tips for Emirates
- ✓The best fares on Emirates concentrate in their seasonal campaigns: winter offers (October–December), Spring Sale (March–April), Summer Sale (June–July), Day Edition Sale (annual short sales of 24–72 hours), UAE National Day promotions (December 2) and Eid al-Fitr/Eid al-Adha, with discounts of 15–40% on Economy and Business tickets to Asia, the Middle East, Maldives, Seychelles and Australia. For Hot Sale in May, El Buen Fin in November and Black Friday/Cyber Monday prices in MXN often improve due to exchange rate effects and promotional fares for the Americas are released. Subscribe to the Emirates Skywards newsletter for fare alerts, a welcome coupon and glitch-fare notices. Earn Skywards miles on every flight, redeem them for upgrades to Business (best value per mile) and take advantage of partnerships with Mexican cards (BBVA, Banamex, AmEx Centurion, Santander) that multiply miles by spend. MSI at 6, 9 or 12 months with participating cards are useful for Business or First tickets where totals exceed $50,000–200,000 MXN. Request an invoice — Emirates, as a non-Mexican airline, does not issue CFDI by default, but sends a receipt with a breakdown by email and for business deductions you can request an invoice via support. Always compare with Etihad, Qatar, Turkish, Lufthansa, KLM and Air France and search engines like Google Flights, Skyscanner and Kiwi.com — Dubai’s hub sometimes outperforms Doha, Istanbul or Frankfurt for Asia. Book 2–6 months in advance.
❓ Frequently asked questions about Emirates
Does Emirates fly from Mexico?
Emirates operates direct flights Mexico City (MEX) to Barcelona (BCN) and Dubai (DXB) since 2019 with Boeing 777-300ER, and is one of the few airlines offering a direct connection between Mexico and the Middle East/Asia without a stop in the United States or northern Europe. From Dubai it connects to more than 150 destinations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and Europe. The emirates.com website allows you to book the itinerary in Spanish with prices in Mexican pesos and issues the electronic ticket to your email and the official Emirates app.
Does Emirates accept OXXO or Mercado Pago?
Emirates Airlines does not accept OXXO Pay or Mercado Pago directly on its website. Payment options available for customers in Mexico are Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and MSI with participating Mexican bank cards on higher-value tickets. If you need to pay in cash, an alternative is to purchase PayPal balance at OXXO via a participating kiosk and use PayPal at checkout, or book through a Mexican travel agency that accepts those methods.
Does Emirates issue electronic invoices (CFDI)?
Emirates Airlines is based in Dubai, UAE, and as such does not issue Mexican CFDI by default for tickets sold directly on emirates.com. Keep the confirmation email with your PNR, ticket number and fare/tax breakdown as proof. For business tax deduction, contact support with your RFC to request an international invoice, or book through a Mexican travel agency (BestDay, Despegar, Price Travel) that can issue a CFDI for the commission and ticket.
Does Emirates offer months without interest (MSI)?
Yes. emirates.com offers MSI at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months without interest with participating Mexican bank cards (Banamex, BBVA, Santander, HSBC, Banorte, AmEx) on purchases above the minimum amount, especially useful for Business or First Class tickets to Asia/Australia/Maldives where totals exceed $50,000–200,000 MXN. Check the minimum amount at checkout before paying and confirm with your bank the availability of MSI for that date and for charges to an international merchant.
